How the Machine Works

In this machine, pistachios are fed into a water-filled tank. Due to weight differences, each category of pistachio settles at a different depth in the water:

• Empty pistachios float on the surface and are guided by upper paddles to the first outlet.
• Semi-kernel pistachios, positioned in the middle layer of water, are directed by a middle paddle to the second outlet.
• Full and heavy pistachios sink to the bottom of the tank and are transferred by a special pump to the third outlet for onward processing.
